Planning for a Season of Giving

Many of us use the holiday season as an opportunity to give back to our community and the charities that matter to us, and there are many ways to make a significant contribution. Did you know your workplace might support you with your efforts? Read on…

  • If you give to your United Way workplace campaign, you can designate all or a portion of your gift to any registered charity in Canada. To direct your funds to the Melanoma Network of Canada, enter our name and charitable registration number (#85491 3050 RR0001) on your pledge form.
  • Many companies will match their employees’ contributions to charities. By making use of the corporate gift-matching program offered by your place of work, your gift to MNC can be doubled and even tripled!
  • Companies with volunteer grant programs give to charities based on the number of hours its employees volunteer with an organization and some will give paid time off for you to volunteer.

Check with your Human Resources department for your company’s policy on charitable giving and volunteering.

MNC does not currently receive any government funding. We rely on individual donors, events and our partners to fund research, patient support programs, prevention efforts and initiatives to increase awareness. Please consider giving to MNC this holiday season. In 2020, we are setting our sights on the development of a frontline physician education program, to help stem the tide of melanoma and to aide in early detection and treatment.

Consider your own individual giving plan. Some of the ways you can support MNC are by:

Making a donation

Setting up a reoccurring donation online is safe, secure and easy. Your monthly donation helps form a predictable source of income we can count on to fund MNC’s work. It’s the most convenient way to give and ensures that the MNC receives your ongoing support. By visiting you can make a one-time, monthly or in memorial gift. If you prefer using a cheque, it can be made out to the Melanoma Network of Canada and mailed to: 482 South Service Rd E. Unit 110, Oakville, Ontario L6J 2X6

Hosting an event

Planning a fundraiser is a great way to host a fun community or business event that supports a great cause. Whether it’s a bake sale, a hot chocolate sale, or a tournament playing your favourite games…the options are endless!

Considering MNC in your estate planning

A planned gift is a charitable donation, which can be arranged during your lifetime, but is not available to the recipient organization until sometime in the future. Along with a gift in your will through a bequest, there are other planning options that will also offer you financial benefits.
