COVID-19 has created much uncertainty for our dear MNC friends, turning the world as we know it completely upside down. It has drastically changed every aspect of our lives and shaken up our sense of safety for ourselves and loved ones.
We acknowledge how challenging this is for people living with melanoma, and skin cancer, for families, friends, and caregivers. There is much anxiety especially for those waiting for a scan or test results, surgery, for those undergoing treatment, dealing with weakened immune systems, or adjusting to life post-treatment. We all wonder what lies ahead in the coming weeks. We want you to know that we are here for you and that we are in this together.
Patient Support Services
MNC’s Patient Care Specialist, Mary Zawadzki is available to provide confidential telephone and email support to help you to cope and navigate your healthcare. She can listen to your concerns and support you in managing the range of emotions that you may be experiencing at this time. Mary can explore how melanoma along with COVID-19 is impacting on your life, share ideas for managing anxiety, coping with isolation, discuss any challenges or share resources that might be helpful. Melanoma Virtual Support Groups
Physical distancing with social connecting is our goal to get through this together! We can use each other’s support now more than ever. MNC will continue to provide monthly support group meetings, but now in a virtual capacity on the first Wednesday of every month, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM (EDT).
Take time to connect, care of yourself, share ideas and information, focus on the things you can control, and find activities to bring joy to your every day.

Update on Fundraising Events
Our annual Cover Up for Melanoma Gala previously scheduled for April 30 is postponed until it is safe to gather in larger groups. The event is now planned for October 22. We are so grateful for the ongoing support from our ticket purchasers, donors, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers. MNC continues to operate; our priority focusing on support to our valued community while keeping our amazing staff well and safe at the same time. Our team will be working from home to deliver much needed programming and services.

Keep yourself well through practicing physical distancing, staying home as much as you can, washing your hands often, and connecting safely to each other to ensure we all have the emotional support and basic necessities that are required.
