A Message to our Community on COVID-19

Melanoma Network of Canada (MNC) understands how crucial it is to contain COVID-19, especially because melanoma and skin cancer patients are at elevated risk. We are here to support our community and encourage Canadians to follow safety measures outlined by the Public Health Agency of Canada and minimize contact; especially with those who may have compromised immune systems during this time.

To current Patients:

Talk to your health care provider about your risk. They will also keep you updated on any possible modifications to your appointments or treatment options.

MNC has a comprehensive database of melanoma and skin cancer resources on our website melanomanetwork.ca . All are free to download melanomanetwork.ca/mncpub/

MNC’s Patient Care Specialist, Mary Zawadzki is also available to answer questions mzawadzki@melanomanetwork.ca

Update on our Patient Support Groups:

MNC will continue to provide monthly support group meetings in a virtual capacity only until further notice. Support group members will receive a communication regarding how to login to meetings. The date/time of these meetings will remain the same as the previously scheduled in person group meetings. For more information visit melanomanetwork.ca/supportgroups/

If you have any questions please be in touch with Mary Zawadzki mzawadzki@melanomanetwork.ca

Update on our fundraising events:

Prioritizing the health and safety of our community, MNC will postpone our annual Cover Up for Melanoma Gala previously scheduled for April 30th. The event will now take place October 22, 2020. We thank all ticket purchasers, donors, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers for their cooperation, and look forward to seeing you in the fall

If you have and questions please be in touch with Filomena Feltmate ffeltmate@melanomanetwork.ca

Update on our MNC operations:

MNC continues to operate, with the safety of staff of the utmost concern. All staff continue to work from home to deliver much needed programming for melanoma and skin cancer patients, and survivors.

How you can help?

You can help our community by practicing social distancing, while ensuring those with compromised immune systems have the supplies they need. Please consider donating to MNC to help us continue our efforts to support melanoma and skin cancer patients during these difficult times.

Thank you for your support and cooperation during this time.

Stay safe!
