Steven Lewis is Legal Counsel for Cancer Care Ontario, the Ontario government’s advisor on cancer, renal systems, and access to care for key health services.
Steven’s legal experience comes with a passion for change and desire to improve his community. He has been a lifelong volunteer involved with aging, health and diversity issues. He has served in advisory, management, fundraising and direct care roles and been recognized with individual awards for his work including the ‘Law Society of Upper Canada’s Diversity Equity and Inclusivity Award’ for contributions to historically disadvantaged groups.
Currently Steven also sits on the National Executive of the Canadian Bar Association’s Equality Committee as well as the Executive of the Ontario Bar Association’s Health Law and SOGIC Sections. He is also a volunteer with SickKids Hospital and Camp Oochigeas, a camp for children with cancer.
Steven holds a BSc in Gerontology and Health Sciences as well as a Juris Doctor. He is a coach, avid traveler and a political junkie.
