      Hi everyone,
Just reaching out to remind you of the walk coming up. This is our major fundraiser of the year – we receive no funding from government or other agencies and rely on our support network to help us raise funds to continue the good work we do.

Many of you may have benefited from what our small team does – we field thousands of patient calls annually. Often families or patients in distress after being diagnosed or having a spread of their disease. We offer support services, information and insights to the disease and treatment. We have the most robust website anywhere in the world! We have some of the best information booklets on melanoma, uveal melanoma and lymphedema available anywhere – most hospitals in Canada are now relying on this as their primary source of information for patients and physicians. We have launched this patient forum; produce 5 award winning newsletters annually; have Canada’s first comprehensive youth awareness program through summer camps (www.screenme.ca) and a world’s first comprehensive training program for peer support volunteers. We provided funding for a research grant to McGill University and the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research.

We have done all of this on a budget of less than $500,000 with two staff. Imagine what else we can do to help defeat this disease?

Won’t you join us to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families?
