Help improve the quality of online cancer resources
Macquarie University and Melanoma Network of Canada are conducting a study to explore features indicating quality of cancer-related online resources. The quality factors include an assessment of the content, design, and credibility of these online resources.The purpose of the interviews is to understand what features indicate quality of cancer-related online resources from the perceptions of users (cancer-affected people).The study is being conducted to meet the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy under the supervision of Associate Professors Yvette Blount and Michael Quilter, Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance, Macquarie Business School.How to Participate
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to answer questions related to the features indicating quality of cancer-related online resources. The interview is anticipated to take between 30-45 minutes. If you agree, we will audio record the interview.In order to participate members must meet the following criteria:- Been a user of cancer-related online resources provided by a non-profit cancer organization.
- Have been diagnosed with cancer, have survived your cancer experience, or are a carer, family member, or friend of someone with cancer.
- Above 18 years old
- Willing to volunteer approximately 30-45 minutes of your time to answer various questions

No individual will be identified in any publication of the results. All data collected will be held on Macquarie University’s secured servers. Codes and identifiers will be used when reporting findings and results to protect the confidentiality of participants. The data will be only accessed by the supervisor and the student. A summary of the results of the data can be made available to you on request, this can be shared via email or hard copies sent via postal mail.Participation in this study is entirely voluntary: you are not obliged to participate and if you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without having to give a reason and without consequence.To participate please contactBasma Badreddine at +61 403 499 425
